Qualtech Products Industry Mar Resistance Tester is an Instrumented Scratch Machine to determine the Mar Behavior of samples and sample surfaces at the touch of a button.
This professional Automatic Mar Tester performs Mar Tests and Scratch Tests on Single-Layer Coatings, Multi-Layer Coatings and Sample Surfaces and integrates a large Sample Area suitable for a wide range of samples and sample sizes.
The Mar Resistance of samples differs in the degree of the damage that may occur during the Mar Test on the sample surface.
The Surface Hardness Test and the Mar Test is divided into two main categories:
- The Mar Resistance is the ability of samples to resist light scratching. Mar is primarily an optical issue caused by fine and visible scratches on sample surfaces which affect the appearance of sample surfaces,
- The Scratch Resistance is the ability of samples to resist deeper and harsher scratching across the sample surface. A Scratch is a deeper cut or damage of the sample surfaces which may damage the entire coating and cut the an entire multi-coating system.
